Game Icons - Art Test

Got word from Roger Chamberlain that there was a possible position open to do some icons at DireWolfDigital. He asked me to do an art test since my portfolio isn't particularly chock-full of icons.

I'm worried that I tried to fit too much detail to the icons' detriment. And the time spent on these is going to be troublesome if I'm going to attempt more than four a day at the same level of artist's anguish. I suppose I'll have to budget out "stare at drawing for an hour before doing anything".

Wish I could bring myself to develop the armor and outfit more but I've spent enough time on this image that I feel like I should move on. I'm pretty happy with the overall style, I'm hoping that I'll practice enough to blend referenced and non-referenced parts better.

Forgot to upload the finished version of the armsman drawing. Rearranged his arms to make him more interesting. I'm feeling like I need to do some real studies with figures in action. Doing too many of these "character layout" types. Sweet, I think I figured out how to size up the thumbnails. Much happier.
